EC / TDS / conductance / conductivity in practice

In aquaristics, the conductance (conductivity) is an important parameter for the water quality in addition to the pH value.
With this EC meter you can test the quality of pure water from your osmosis system, tap water or demineralizer.

Test your water right away:

Fill a clean beaker with cold (not hot, not warm) tap water and remove the protective cap from the BEM Water Tester. Press the "ON" button to activate the display. Immerse the sensor of the BEM Water Tester in 2-5 cm of water and wait 10 seconds.
Check the result:

up to 50 PPM - crystal clear water
50 to 100 PPM - clean water
100 to 300 PPM - medium contaminated water
300 to 600 PPM - high level of water contamination
600 to 1000 PPM - very high level of water contamination
over 1000 PPM - non-potable water

If the value on the display is in the range of 300 or more, you need to act immediately! And install a special water filter - your family's health is at risk!
